For the next couple of months, all money that I receive from my auctions will be sent directly to my
fiance, Shelly's, family displaced from Hurricane Katrina. A little background here, Shelly's parent's home
was located on Orleans Ave and Fillmore essentially. Their house sat across the street from a levee on the other side of city
park. Her parent's home will soon be one of the bulldozed homes. Next door to her parents house was the house where here Grandfather
grew up - in fact it was one of the first homes around! Down the street from thier house lived her Dad's Cousin and his wife.
They, too, lost everything. Her Mom was from a small town near Chalmette named Violet. This is where her Grandmother, several
Uncle's, Aunt's, cousins, and countless other relatives and thier families lived. Because Violet sat 20 feet below sea
level, there isn't a single thing for them to go back for. Please look at some of the pictures we have set up of before and
after the storm. Luckily we were able to take a trip down to see her family at the beginning of August - what luck huh?
We have sent boxes of clothes to the family and they were able to get personal items from local churches and shelters.
Now it's time for them to start over. This means they need to try to find new homes, appliences, furniture, towles, dishes
and everything else to live on. Because of this, we're raising money to send directly to our family. They have all only received
so much from the government, FEMA, and insurance. For some of them, the flood insurance just didn't cover enough, and with
the money the will receive there's still no way to rebuild their home muchless buy somewhere else. So there's our soapbox
for now. As you can see by my feedback, I'm a pretty honest guy. I have been around EBay for a long time and hope that you
all will bid with confidence. Know that every penny will go to someone who really, REALLY needs it. Thanks, Chris and Shelly
